The Cooks River Foreshore and parklands cater for a range of user requirements including sporting fields, exercise equipment, a foreshore cycle link, public toilet access, water play park, picnic and barbecue facilities, seating, shade and environmental protection of the river foreshore. The foreshore and parklands are a unique part of Marrickville and offer a natural retreat from the urban environment.
Over the next two years Council will develop a 10 year plan for a 2.5km length of the Cooks River edge which includes

Inner West cyclists are invited to this year’s Newtown Bike Breakfast to celebrate Ride2Work Day. Meet at Hollis Park on your way to work along Newtown’s Bike Highway – Wilson St.
Come along and get a free breakfast lovingly made by Alfalfa House, which includes bike powered smoothies. There will also be free coffee to help you on your way. Bicycle Garden will be on hand to teach you some quick tips to maintain and repair your bike.

At this session, attendees will learn a variety of new ways in how to maximise fundraising at their club, as well as the best strategies and practices for attracting sponsors.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Sports Community’s vision is to help build stronger communities by assisting ‘grass roots’ sports clubs to succeed through the empowerment of club volunteers through the provision of information and training to help them achieve their objectives.
Swim Champs is our swim school program especially designed for people with disabilities. Our team of Learn-to-Swim Instructors and Swimming Coaches strive to make every lesson fun and to ensure continual progression in accordance with our course structure, based on Swim and Survive from the Royal Life Saving Society (Australia).
Swim Champs operates on weekdays between 12pm and 3pm, and Saturday and Sunday afternoon between 12.30pm and 5pm. Other times may be available upon request outside of regular swim school times. Classes are designed to suit individual needs.
